FACADE CLEANING

In the picture, you can see a dirty private house in Viimsi, with the soiled and mossy facade clearly visible. For this building, we had to perform a full facade maintenance and also the plastering works to the full extent.

On the left, you can see a photo of the building’s initial appearance and on the right, how it looked later when it was completed.

The building got a full facade maintenace, partial removal of loose plaster, facade cleaning, renovations, biocide wash, reinforcement with fiberglass mesh + installing finishing plaster.

Facade materials made by Weber Therm have been used. This is a work process of facade SILS system maintenance

Possible processes when performing the works:
  • We wash the facade with appropriate equipment and tools.
  • If the object evaluation indicates that it is not possible to remove dirt and other substances from the facade, we can paint it over.
  • We perform a biocide wash if the facade contains seaweed and mould/fungus masses.
  • The building’s facade shall remain clean and fresh for about 4-5 years (depends on the location: nature, sea, forest)
Useful recommendations:
  • It is crucial to find out what the problems with the facade are and which solution works best – ask an expert for help.
  • It is important to acknowledge that washing the facade is not the same as maintenance works.
  • Plastered facades need a pressure wash every 4-5 years.
  • We can avoid and limit seaweed and mould/fungus masses by choosing the right finishing plaster or performing regular maintenance works, by using environment-friendly biocidal substances that obstruct the emergence and spread of seaweed and mould/fungus masses.
  • Without any experience and lack of knowledge regarding the technology, surface layer composition and other characteristics and by using a wrong cleaning substance or tools, you could seriously damage the plaster and paint of the facade – this is why these works should be performed by professionals.
  • To slow down the soiling of the facade as much as possible, the walls should be painted after washing when performing the facade maintenance works, first by removing the causes that contribute to the wall soiling.
  • We recommend using high-quality materials and systems. If you have used cheap materials with low quality as well as unprofessional people, then, unfortunately, your facade cannot stay beautiful for a long time and you shall pay much more later.
  • High-quality material and correctly chosen solutions and a professional team ensure that the facade remains beautiful for about 15 years.
  • A long-term facade solution – you should think about it already in the beginning. Ultimately, it is cheaper than many other solutions. Pick one and do it right!
